No! We never use processed or artificial ingredients, and everything is non-GMO.
Where can I find nutritional information about my meals?
Nutritional information and ingredients are included with each meal. Macronutrients vary depending upon your ingredient preferences, but all meals are well-portioned with ranges of 250 – 700 calories depending on the meal. We use ingredients that are nutrient-dense and fiber-rich, nourishing your body and helping you feel fuller, longer.
Are all of your meals Low FODMAP?
No, they are not. Though all of our meals are gluten-free, meals from our other dietary programs may contain FODMAPs. If you have IBS, SIBO, or IBD please select meals from our Low FODMAP plans.
How do I heat the meals up?
Each meal comes with directions for microwaves as well as conventional ovens.
Microwave:
1. Remove band from tray and leave clear film intact. Peel corner of clear film or puncture with a fork to allow for steam venting. Place in microwave.
2. Heat for 1-2 minutes if thawed*, 3-5 minutes if frozen*. While cooking, clear film may form a dome over meal. *Microwave times may vary.
3. Allow meal to rest for 1 minute, remove clear film from tray and enjoy!

Requests made after that deadline will be applied to the following week’s delivery. Our meals are prepared fresh, so the notification period gives us time to adjust inventory and prepare the correct number of meals.
Why are dietitian consultations offered?
Data shows that working with a trained dietitian significantly improves the likelihood of success. We are an outcomes-based company and believe this support is critical to helping you gain control over your health. If you are already working with a dietitian or were referred to us by your dietitian, there is no need to sign up for our dietitian consultations. We offer this as a service for those patients not already connected to a dietitian.
Will my HSA apply and do you take insurance?
Your HSA may apply toward the cost of the dietitian consult but not the meals. We do not accept insurance for the dietitian consultations. Regarding the meals, insurance does not typically pay for food that could also be used for general consumption, so it’s not a reimbursable program. Accounting for in-home meals and the cost of eating out, the average American spends $125 on food per week. This figure does not include the additional expense of supplements and medications patients often incur in an attempt to manage their symptoms. Many of our patients have found it to be a small increase to their budget when considering meals at home, money spent eating out, and out-of-pocket costs for medications.
Do you deliver to my area?
Yes! We deliver nationwide, anywhere in the Continental U.S. (No P.O. boxes please)
What days do you deliver?
Meals are scheduled to arrive by Fridays via major carriers such as UPS or FedEx. A tracking number will be provided by email ahead of time.
How much does shipping cost?
We're glad you asked! Shipping is FREE to all 50 states.
Does someone need to be present to receive the delivery?
No. If you aren’t home at the time of delivery, the package will be left on your doorstep.
How do I change or skip a delivery?
Visit your account page or call us toll free at 888-7MODIFY (888-766-3439) to make changes to your account. Order changes and skip requests must be placed by Saturday, 11:59pm ET to be applied to the upcoming week’s delivery. How long will my food stay fresh?
Thanks to our vacuumed sealed trays, meals typically stay fresh 7-10 days after
delivery, stored in the refrigerator. You can extend the shelf life 6-8 weeks by storing them in the freezer.
How are the meals packaged?
Our meals are vacuum-sealed in BPA-free, recyclable trays. The plastic seals are
also recyclable. The trays are delivered in insulated cardboard boxes with ice packs to keep them at safe
temperatures.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes! Sustainability is something we’re passionate about at ModifyHealth and we’d love it if you could

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes, many of our dietitians offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
How long are the appointments?
Initial visits are 55-60 minutes. Follow-up sessions vary depending on your needs and your insurance coverage.
What happens in my first session?
You’ll meet virtually with a registered dietitian who will take time to understand your health history, goals, and lifestyle. From there, you’ll work together to create a tailored plan that works for you.
How often will I meet with my dietitian?
Most clients meet with their dietitian every 1-2 weeks, depending on their goals and insurance coverage.
Can my dietitian help me choose the right ModifyHealth meals?
Yes! Your dietitian can recommend specific ModifyHealth medically tailored meals that align with your health goals and any dietary needs—whether you’re managing diabetes, digestive issues, heart health, or weight loss. What is a “FODMAP?”
FODMAPs (short for Fermentable, Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides,
Monosaccharides And Polyols) are a collection of short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) found in many
foods and food additives that can be hard for some people to digest. If they aren’t digested properly in the gut,
they can trigger symptoms in people with IBS. Most patients aren’t sensitive to all categories of FODMAPs so it’s
important to identify your specific FODMAP trigger foods.
What meal plans are available?
We offer two Low-FODMAP meal plan subscriptions for to help you take control and maintain control over your GI symptoms.
OPTION 1: Low-FODMAP MEALS: If you simply want convenient, great-tasting Low-FODMAP meals delivered weekly to your door. All our meals are Low-FODMAP, so they will be safe to eat no matter which FODMAP’s trigger your symptoms.
OPTION 2: Low-FODMAP QUICKSTART FIT PROGRAM: The Low-FODMAP QuickStart FIT Program is recommended by providers if you are currently struggling with IBS and want to take control over your symptoms. This fully-guided program is based on Monash University’s research, which indicates 3 out of 4 people will feel better after completing a Low-FODMAP protocol. By working with our Low FODMAP trained dietitians and optional chef-prepared Low-FODMAP meals we make compliance simple and increase the likelihood of achieving these results. The program generally takes 6-8 weeks and consists of the following phases:
Elimination: For 2-3 weeks you will swap High-FODMAP foods for low-FODMAP alternatives. Approximately 75% of patients feel better by the end of this phase. Our optional home-delivered meals are all Low-FODMAP
Certified which makes compliance simple, healthy, and delicious!
Reintroduction: During the next 4-6 weeks you will systematically re-introduce High-FODMAP foods
under the guidance of a dietitian. This will help you learn the specific foods and categories of foods which
trigger your symptoms.
Personalization: Going through reintroduction allows you to liberalize your diet and enjoy many
more foods than maintaining a strict Low-FODMAP diet.
What is a “FODMAP Program?”
In order to identify your FODMAP trigger foods, providers recommend a Low-FODMAP
Program. The program begins with a 2-week period of FODMAP elimination which, in most cases, will quickly provide
IBS symptom relief. The program then transitions to a 6-week reintroduction phase where you systematically introduce
high-FODMAP foods, under the guidance of dietitian, so you can identify your specific trigger foods.
Are your meals Monash University Low FODMAP Certified™?
Yes, we’re proud to be the first and only nationwide meal delivery service to have received the Monash University Low FODMAP Certification. This certification gives patients, dietitians, and other healthcare providers assurance that our meals meet the guidelines to help make the FODMAP journey simple and effective.
Will all patients experience significant improvement?
Data suggests up to 75% of IBS patients will experience significant relief by
adopting a low-FODMAP program. If you do not have meaningful results after the 2-week elimination phase, your
dietitian may recommend that you discontinue the program and revisit with your provider. If there is no improvement,
simply discontinue your subscription.
How do I learn more about Low-FODMAP?
Feel free to speak with your dietitian to learn more or check out our What is FODMAP page.
The ModifyHealth programs recommended by your healthcare provider include medically-tailored meals and expert dietitians to guide you through these systematic dietary protocols. By the end of the program, you will know how food plays a role in your wellbeing and have a plan for ongoing control of your symptoms.
